On behalf of BCCD and Mike Salino, I’d like to thank all that came out for the North – South Drive Outing. It was a perfect day – a bit cool for the first week in November, we were expecting a few degrees warmer, but those of us who put our tops down – well worth coming out. We were delighted our new BCCD members joined us. Rowan Perkins, Triumph TR-7, Richard Hill & Barbara Russell, Triumph TR-3.
We, 10 cars and just about double that with drivers and passengers, met at the route-8 Dunkin’ in Dover, lined up, fueled with coffee and a couple Donuts ready to go.

We were off to explore the backroads of Delaware and a couple of Maryland roadways. Playing follow the leader behind our creative tour guides Mike and Lee, we pulled out of Dunkin’ parking lot ready to travel the advertised 60 miles. The tour took us mostly through Kent county’s rural Amish community. Even for a while, our caravan was lead by an Amish horse and buggy. As we passed the buggy the horse spooked probably by the sound of one of the British car engines.

With our driving tour coming to a close we pulled into McGlynns on Silver Lake where Rev Richard Speck had already arrived. By then we were ready to eat. McGlynns was serving brunch which we all took advantage. What did we talk about. British cars! Once we concluded, we paid our bill and headed home. It was still a bit cool driving home on the Dupont Highway at 58 degrees. I think I had the shortest drive home.
