It was a typical British weather day with changeable conditions, a mix of sunshine, clouds, and rain. But that didn’t stop Richard Speck in his Jaguar, Mike and Lee Salino in their Jaguar, and Bob Wall in his Jensen-Healey from making the trip to visit one of our advertisers, Treasured Motorcar Services in New Freedom, PA, for their open house. It was also an opportunity to present Treasure Motorcar’s Allison Griffiths with an appreciation plaque for supporting the BCCD – Richard did a fine job doing the honors for the BCCD.
Departing from the Four Seasons Plaza Dunkin’ with overcast skies, we traveled 60 miles on backroads from Delaware to Maryland to Pennsylvania, crossing the Conowingo Dam and enjoying the aroma of mushrooms growing in the Pennsylvania hills. Rain was here and there but rather light and thunderstorms did not arrive as had been threatened.
Treasured Motorcar Services is a very large facility with many classic vehicles at different stages of restoration. They had numerous British Cars as you can see in the photos. Many completed cars were also at the open house so we could inspect the fine work they do.
Following our visit, we chose to forego the food truck and had lunch at Mason-Dixon Diner nearby. Good food and service, but we were too full to enjoy the many desserts they had to offer. The 60 mile trip back had a bit more rain at times, but the sun peaked out as we were arriving back in Newark area.
ENJOY THE PHOTOS!
