Seven BCCD Members caravaned ~50 miles up the Amish backroads, dodging horse droppings as we went, to attend the European car show sponsored by the Lanco MG Club. Show was held in a new location this year at Sylvan B Fisher Park in Brownstown, PA. A pleasant, but overcast day for Alan and Fiona Hill in their Lotus Elan, Mike and Lee Salino in their recently acquired MGB-GT, Bob and Carol Wall in their Jensen Interceptor, and Tony Phillips in his MG TD. We also met new BCCD member John Stone in his MGB-GT V8 (right hand drive!) at the show and he joined the caravan back home.
Thanks to Alan’s inside knowledge, we were able to take a portion of backroad less traveled because the neighbors had somehow arranged “road closed” signs put up! The show was not judged so we didn’t have to spend time cleaning smudges and horse droppings off the car and tyres. That made it a relaxing day and we enjoyed award-winning “sliders” from the food truck, followed by a visit to the ice cream truck for those that had room. It was Alan’s and Mike’s lucky day as they went home with some door prizes.
